General Program Issues

I believe in keeping my customers fully informed about the status of the program - both the good and the bad. The following is a list of known problems or issues with the latest version of the software as well as the current status. Most bugs are fixed and an update posted in a day or two, so they often will not show up on this page.
Are there bugs in the program? Yes. Any programmer who is being honest with you will tell you that all programs have bugs. The fact that they are not listed below just means that I haven't found them yet, no one has reported them yet, and they are probably so obscure and insignificant that they may never be found - but I know they're in there. Any program that is complex enough to do useful work is going to have bugs in it. I test as thoroughly as I can, but they still get through. When I find out about a bug, I fix it as quickly as possible and post a version update. If you find a bug in the program, please let me know about it so I can fix it.
For a bit of perspective, when Microsoft first released Windows 95 to the public in August 1995, there were approximately 5,000 known bugs in that operating system. The bugs were obscure enough and minor enough that it made little or no practical difference to the vast majority of users. Ironically, that information never would have been known to the public if a Microsoft employee hadn't used that fact during a presentation at a software quality conference.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional - If the program is installed under one user ID, and then opened under a different user ID, the entire program window may by compressed into the left side of the screen and is unreadable. This is an OS problem and no work-around is known at this time other than making sure that the program is installed and run under the same user ID.
Operating System Note: We have not heard any reports of any problems using Vista or Windows 7 with the exception of the Flagged Items Report not working on the Florida program, and our own testing shows the same results. No problems have been found or reported with any other state version of Campaign ToolBox. The Flagged Items Report problem with the Florida program has been corrected on Version 5, which will not be released until it passes testing on the DS-DE test site.
